WD Purple HDD Spec and Price in Canada
WD Purple is the surveillance line, tuned for the sequential-heavy write pattern of NVR and DVR recording rather than random access, per the WD data sheet. The 1-8TB SKUs spin at 5400rpm and the larger capacities at 7200rpm, all with a 3.5-inch SATA form factor and a three-year warranty. AllFrame technology is WD's marketing for the firmware's stream-alignment; the practical claim — it won't drop frames when a recorder writes many streams at once — is what the line is bought for.
Prices exclude GST/HST.
