The gaming default at the high end: eight Zen 5 cores with AMD's second-generation 3D V-Cache stacked beneath them rather than on top, which is what lets this one clock and overclock like a normal part instead of a cache-limited one. Against the 9700X it trades a little all-core headroom for a large lead anywhere a game is bound by memory latency. Buy it to play games at high frame rates; buy the 9950X instead if the machine mostly compiles or renders.
