Core Ultra 5 245K Spec and Price in France

LGA185114 cores / 14 threads

Released October 10, 2024 ·

Intel's mid-tier Arrow Lake part: 14 cores split 6 Performance and 8 Efficient reach a 5.2GHz boost from a notably higher 4.2GHz P-core base, with 24MB of L3 cache — the same core layout and L3 as the outgoing 14600K, though L2 cache grows to 26MB from that chip's 20MB. Dropping Hyper-Threading cuts threads to 14 from that chip's 20, while maximum turbo power falls to 159W from 181W, a lighter cooling load. At $319 boxed, it undercuts the 14600K's $329 by $10, and integrated Intel Graphics covers a fallback display.

Tied 39th of 65 models in the CPU catalog on Boost clock — 4 models share this figure. Tied 51st of 65 models in the CPU catalog on L3 cache — 6 models share this figure.

What owners and reviewers say

Summarised from 2 source(s), reviewed September 13, 2026. A source is counted only where it names this model exactly. How we track prices

Commonly praised

  • A modern architecture with good thermal performance, advanced memory and expansion support, and good productivity performance.
  • Owners report it is fast and power-efficient, running cool even under sustained loads.
  • It is described as a big upgrade from much older builds, handling gaming, browsing and server-style workloads well.
  • Several owners say firmware updates since launch have noticeably improved its performance.

Commonly criticised

  • Inconsistent gaming performance, an expensive upgrade path, and a weak price-to-performance ratio.
  • Some owners say the leap from recent 12th to 14th generation chips is small and suggest waiting.
  • One owner reports the CPU arrived damaged because of inadequate packaging.
