Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Spec and Price in the United States
Released April 22, 2026 · $899.00 MSRP
The first Ryzen with 3D V-Cache stacked on both eight-core chiplets, rather than the single chiplet the standard 9950X3D stacks it on, reaching 208MB of total cache across the same sixteen Zen 5 cores and 32 threads, at a slightly lower 5.6GHz boost clock. AMD positions it for developers and creators working through heavy compiles, large-scale simulations and memory-intensive workflows rather than for gamers, where a single chiplet's cache pool already covers most game engines. Feeding the extra V-Cache costs 30W over the 9950X3D's TDP, and like the rest of the X3D line it ships without a bundled cooler.
Tied 10th of 65 models in the CPU catalog on Boost clock — 7 models share this figure. 3rd of 65 models in the CPU catalog on L3 cache.

What owners and reviewers say
Summarised from 1 source(s), reviewed September 14, 2026. A source is counted only where it names this model exactly. How we track prices
Commonly praised
- Reviewers found it takes the top slot in their multithreaded rankings, roughly 4% ahead of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and about 7% ahead of the 9950X in heavily threaded rendering and encoding work.
- It matches the Ryzen 7 9800X3D in gaming while being the first desktop processor to stack 3D V-Cache on both of its CCDs.
- The largest gains showed up in specialized, memory-intensive workloads, where some results improved by double digits, and the chip stays unlocked for overclocking.
Commonly criticised
- At $899 it was judged poor value for all but a very narrow set of buyers.
- It regresses slightly in single-threaded tasks and draws substantially more power, peaking near 250W in applications and higher under AVX stress.
