ASUS ROG Strix Platinum Spec and Price in the United States

80 Plus Platinum1000WATX

ROG Strix Platinum is the plainer half of ASUS's enthusiast pair: no OLED panel and no Aura lighting, just an 80 PLUS Platinum unit built to ATX 3.1 with a native 16-pin PCIe 5.1 cable that is 16-pin at both ends. GaN MOSFETs on the primary side cut switching losses, and the 135mm dual-ball-bearing fan stays still until load passes 40%, which is how the 1000W earns its Cybenetics Lambda A+ noise grade. Fully modular on etched cables, and ASUS backs both the 1000W and the 1200W for ten years.

What owners and reviewers say

Summarised from 1 source(s), reviewed September 14, 2026. A source is counted only where it names this model exactly. How we track prices

Commonly praised

  • Reviewers found high build quality, efficient operation, low overall noise, and good 12V transient response, with a 600W 12V-2x6 connector and fully modular cables.
  • It is ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 ready and uses GaN MODFETs on the primary side.

Commonly criticised

  • The reviewer said the GaN MODFETs bring no real benefit because the design lacks a totem-pole PFC converter.
  • The double-ball-bearing fan produced noticeable bearing noise at low speeds.
  • It has extremely high inrush currents and loose 3.3V load regulation, and the minor-rail OCP points do not tighten when hot.
