Thermaltake Toughpower PT Platinum Spec and Price in the United States
Released October 23, 2025
Toughpower PT is the platinum step above Thermaltake's gold lines: 80 PLUS Platinum at up to 92%, ATX 3.1, and a native 12V-2x6 connector that carries 600W to a PCIe 5.1 card on one cable. Thermaltake specifies 100% Japanese 105°C capacitors and a single high-amperage +12V rail behind an LLC and DC-to-DC design, and rates continuous output at 40°C rather than at room temperature. The 135mm hydraulic-bearing fan stops under light load. Three wattages — 850W, 1000W and 1200W — all fully modular on etched flat cables, all covered for ten years.

What owners and reviewers say
Summarised from 1 source(s), reviewed September 14, 2026. A source is counted only where it names this model exactly. How we track prices
Commonly praised
- Reviewers found it delivers full power at 47C and is ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compliant, with Cybenetics Platinum efficiency, tight load regulation and good ripple suppression.
- It runs silently with a Cybenetics A+ noise rating, uses quality capacitors and a 135mm fluid-dynamic-bearing fan, and has well-set over-current and over-power protection with a 600W 12+4-pin connector.
Commonly criticised
- Transient response at 12V under high load could be better, hold-up time comes in under 17ms, inrush current is high, and fan-failure protection is absent.
